Wu-Chi (Qikong) Believed by many to be a direct adaptation of the original Taoist calisthenics and the origin of Tai Chi, Hsing-I, and Pa Kua. The primary focus of these classes is Chi Kung. The creation, storing, movement, and transmission of the body’s natural energy, Chi, for health, power, and healing is accomplished by breathing, body movements, physical and mental meditation, mental imaging, and shaking.
Also know as “Beautiful Eyebrow” this style is a subset of Hong Gia designed for women. Women have power in their hips instead of in the shoulders as men do. They have differences in blood chemistry, energy flows, and breathing that can be turned into advantages, as well.
Cranes (for HGVN's senior students only) While many of the crane techniques are incorporated in Hong-Gia, the crane is so important that it is given special emphasis for training purposes. Three cranes teaches the diverse, yet complementary keys from three different species of cranes. The student is taught crane breathing and movement techniques which are, at once fighting techniques, healthful exercise, and Chi Kung.
